The Microsoft Enterprise Agreement (MELA) provides Public Sector in California with a peer-approved, audit-friendly method of saving funds and managing software licenses. The MELA delivers state of the art solutions, in concert with the industry standards, agencies have come to rely on.
During the first three-years* an EA customer (agency) makes payments for 1/3rd of a perpetual license plus one year of Software Assurance annually. At the end of the three-year* term the agency owns the perpetual licensing outright, and then has the option to renew Software Assurance (SA) for another annualized three-year* term, with no limitations on the number of renewals allowed. The renewal of SA is at a much lower cost than the first three-years*, because the agency is no longer paying for perpetual licenses; which at this point the agency owns. During the three-year* term Software Assurance (SA) increases the value of the agency’s investment. Software Assurance benefits can include: version upgrades, training vouchers, eLearning, 24 x 7 Technical Support, Unlimited Web Support, Home Use Program, Cold-Server Licenses, Desktop Deployment Days, Windows 7 Enterprise, etc. The value of Software Assurance benefits, along with a procurement vehicle that is 7.5% to 35% lower than an equivalent Select Agreement, makes the MELA an attractive solution for Public Sector organizations exceeding 25 seats.
Negotiated by Riverside County, and now used by Cities, Counties, Special Districts, and State entities across California, CompuCom provides “proposal through end-of-term” support to our MELA customers. There is a requirement on the MELA for ‘participating customers’ to include all desktops and laptops, and enroll them in Office Pro Plus, Windows 7 OS Upgrade w/MDOP, or Core/Enterprise CAL. Core and Enterprise CALs provide the Client Access Licenses and services necessary to help reduce costs and accelerate productivity. Customer enrolling workstations in all three of the ‘enterprise’ products see the greatest savings from a ‘Platform Discount’.
An optimized Infrastructure can finally be realized by allowing your CompuCom software specialist to discuss Virtualized Applications, Presentation of Applications, along with Virtualized Workstations and Servers. The result is decreased energy, maintenance and support costs with Microsoft’s new eco- friendly solutions. *Five year enrollments also available
