Enhancements to Dreamweaver CS5.5 coding tools and workflows enable you to work more efficiently to produce websites based on HTML5 and CSS3 specifications. Code hinting and code completion, updated Live View, and updates to the CSS panel help you design and develop websites that look outstanding and function well whether viewed on a desktop computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Multiscreen Preview in Dreamweaver CS5.5
Dreamweaver CS5.5 provides tools for rapidly adapting existing websites and applications for multiple devices using the same code base. Enhancements to the Multiscreen Preview panel enable you to quickly and easily preview your designs for smartphones, tablets, and desktop screens side by side, and run your code in real time. You can also preview custom screen sizes and styles for each device.
The Multiscreen Preview panel helps you create CSS media queries and display separate style sheets for each device. Design View has been updated to read your media queries. As you resize Design View, the corresponding media query is applied, enabling you to switch between styles in real time. Simply resize Design View for the desired device, and then craft your design. The new Advanced Media Query Manager provides a robust way to generate and apply multiple media queries to a page or a site-wide media query file.
Expanded platform and device support in Flash Professional CS5.5
Flash Professional CS5.5 makes it easier to reach audiences on the latest Flash Platform runtimes, including Flash Player 10.2 and Adobe AIR 2.6; you can also reach audiences on Android™, iOS, RIM BlackBerry, webOS, and Adobe Digital Home devices.

Flash Catalyst now enables you to deliver layouts that specify how objects respond when the application window is resized. Using on-object controls, you can specify how each object will move or stretch, and then preview the results by resizing the artboard directly within Flash Catalyst.
For designers who want to choreograph their own transitions between states, new animation options such as transformation point controls, auto-reverse, and font sizes within filter effects provide precise control. You can also save and reapply your custom transitions across effects and objects.
Enhanced eBook authoring in InDesign CS5.5
As eBook reading devices grow ever more sophisticated, InDesign lets designers keep pace. Create visually compelling eBooks that take advantage of advanced capabilities in devices such as the Apple iPad, Sony Reader, and Barnes & Noble nook.
• Transform the eBook reading experience with compelling video and audio—whether it’s a soundtrack in a children’s book, a virtual-walkthrough video in a travel guide, or contemporary news footage in a history book. In InDesign CS5.5, add video and audio for eBook reader applications that support HTML5 video and audio tags.
• Deliver eBooks with images that resize automatically to look crisp on a wide variety of screens. Set conversion options for the entire document or for individual images when you export to EPUB format. You can also rasterize InDesign shapes, text frames, placed graphics, and groups created in InDesign so that they export as dynamically resizing images.
Increased efficiency for delivering more accessible publications in InDesign CS5.5
Use enhanced features in InDesign CS5.5 and Acrobat X Pro to help you deliver publications that meet Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 standards and improve accessibility for people with disabilities. In InDesign, apply features such as high-contrast colors and large-type display more easily, and more easily add, edit, and view alt text attributes associated with an image or object. For example, instead of creating new alt text, use alt text added to an image in Adobe Bridge or attached to an object imported from Microsoft Word. Also use the new Object Export Options dialog box to more easily add alt text directly in InDesign. When you’ve completed the accessible layout in InDesign, export it in PDF and then check, adjust, and validate it in Acrobat X Pro.
