CompuCom can provide a seamless migration from Symantec AntiVirus or existing client security to Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0. From reviewing and documenting your current environment to configuring a proof of concept that best suits your needs, we will work with you to ensure your implementation is done right.
High-level Project Outline:
1. Review and Document Current Environment
2. Assess Components for Implementing Symantec Endpoint Protection
3. Design Endpoint Protection Environment
4. Design Policies
5. Install and Configure the Symantec Endpoint Protection Architecture Proof of Concept
Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 MR3/MR4 provides expanded customization, management and performance enhancements including optimized client and server performance, further scalability controls, and virtualization support. MR3 builds upon the previous maintenance release (MR2) and these key improvements further build on the stability and efficiency of Symantec Endpoint Protection, enabling comprehensive protection and optimal performance for all environments.
SEP MR3 Includes 160+ Improvements:
Symantec Endpoint Protection MR3 – the performance release - provides significantly faster client boot times and application load times than with MR2, and greater efficiency in time-intensive server tasks like delta creation resulting in better performance. Symantec Endpoint Protection truly enables comprehensive protection and optimal performance for all customer sizes and environments.
Improved Client Performance
Code optimizations have been made on the client to reduce the amount of disk activity and the amount of resources used during startup. Your customers will notice decreased client boot time (significantly faster than MR2) and superior load times and performance in other popular applications when compared to earlier versions of Endpoint Protection and many competitive solutions.
Improved Management Server Performance
Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager now utilizes fewer system resources to perform standard functions. SEPM impact to server performance has been reduced to ensure other applications and services running on the system are minimally impacted.
Scalability improvements
Scalability improvements to Group Update Provider increase the number of clients reporting into a Group Update Provider to receive content updates.
Virtualization Support
Randomize Client connections to SEPM for obtaining Content Updates. This ensures less chance of heavy disk reading and writing due to the SEP client on different virtual machines loading new content at the same time. Content downloads are streamlined and more virtualization friendly.
MR4 Provides Additional Support For:
- Windows Operating Systems (32-bit and 64-bit) – for client and management server Microsoft Windows Small Business Server: Standard Edition, Premium Edition
- Microsoft Windows Essential Business Server: Standard Edition, Premium Edition Microsoft Windows Server 2008: Standard Edition, Enterprise Edition, Datacenter Edition, Web
