CompuCom Provides Comprehensive Support throughout the Entire Migration and Deployment Cycle
CompuCom has helped hundreds of clients with PC rollouts, deployments and migrations. Our proven success is based on:
- An unique approach that leverages our experience but adapts to our clients culture and environment
- A client first mentality that focuses on the client’s strategic objectives
- The completeness of our offerings and capabilities (hardware, software, services, tools, process, and resources)
- ITIL-based common processes implemented through an ITSM toolset
Based on your needs, CompuCom can take responsibility for the entire migration process, or simply help you put a plan together, or do anything in between. Typically, Windows 7 migrations follow a natural flow from task to task:
- Most organizations start with some type of Hardware and Software Discovery process in order to put together a baseline inventory. The inventory process provides a set of data points that are needed for component and/or application rationalization.
- At the same time attention can be given to the Designing and Defining the Image. Once the core image is built it can be tested in a lab for validation.
- After the core applications have been selected and the core image is built, Application Testing can take place. Note: We find that as many as half the applications will need to be addressed in some way in order to operate correctly in Windows 7.
Next, the
Remediation phase begins, where a number of proven techniques and best practices are leveraged to correct incompatibility issues discovered during the testing phase.
The last step in the process is to then automate the deployment, starting with a
controlled pilot and running through to a full production implementation.
By approaching a migration in this sequential manner, using a combination of standard and proprietary tools,
we are able to save clients up to 50% of the deployment costs over traditional deployment methods. In summary, CompuCom can complete any or all these steps and tie them all together in an efficient managed Desktop Service that can also include our World Class Helpdesk and Desk-side Support Services.
